MICAP, as a subsidiary of AADIF, a 501(c)(3) organization under the Internal Revenue Code, does not have as its primary purpose the influence of legislation by direct lobbying as did the Michigan Interfaith Council on Alcohol Problems, a 501(c)(4) organization, "MiCAP."  MICAP has no lobbyist and has a different mission:  To educate Michigan citizens about the consequences of the abuse of beverage alcohol and other impairing drugs and promote public policies that eliminate or mitigate those consequences.  To the extent MICAP’s mission would be influenced by policy changes, MICAP will alert and mobilize its supporters.
